London Fashion Week

Eleven Eleven Studio has been proud to provide comprehensive production at London Fashion Week for the British Council over 11 seasons. We were commissioned by Blonstein Events to deliver Headonism, Rock Vaults, Fashion East Menswear Day and the highly anticipated NEWGEN Show Space, as well as site-wide lighting, AV, scheduling and signage.

Working alongside the NEWGEN recipients we created a colourful, interactive showcase of each designers’ personal brand through bespoke installations. We created an exhibition dome for each designer filled with intimate collages made up of photography, text and snippets of interviews.

We tasked the NEWGEN recipients with creating 3D environments that captured the essence of their brands. We sourced and delivered large mirrored boxes to each designer’s studio and asked them to build intimate snapshots of their world.

We designed and delivered a Tote Bag printing pop-up shop where visitors could create customised totes incorporating designs from NEWGEN recipients to take away from LFW. We also redesigned The NEWGEN Pop Up Showroom for the season’s recipients to hold post-show meetings with key fashion buyers and press.

We visited the studios of each of the NEWGEN designers to produce a series of short films documenting the story behind their brands. Commissioned by TOPSHOP, these shorts were broadcast across all of the retailer’s platforms as well as screened in the NEWGEN showspace at Somerset House. We also created the NEWGEN Pop Up Showroom, where each designer hosted private post-show audiences with key fashion buyers and press.

We asked the NEWGEN designers to create a sketchbook cover inspired by their forthcoming collection for SS14 and invited visitors to do the same in our bespoke space. Complementing the experience was The NEWGEN Library, an area we designed to showcase NEWGEN designer catwalk shows alongside publications from established fashion designers. We also created a separate installation celebrating the NEWGEN collections through three key elements: one piece from the current collection, a tablet displaying inspirations and look books, and a campaign image shot in Somerset House.

This season we charged the NEWGEN recipients with creating individual pin badges to be dispensed from quintessential American gum-ball machines which we sourced and shipped from a leading US supplier. On the day, visitors could ‘pay’ for their pins with bespoke vending coins we commissioned from Belgium. We also designed a space to showcase the individual collections of each NEWGEN recipient.

We redeveloped the NEWGEN exhibition space and set up the Topshop x NEWGEN Pop Up Poster Shop, where guests were invited to take home a printed souvenir from the NEWGEN SS13 collections. We also designed a space to showcase the individual collections of each NEWGEN recipient.

We managed Topshop’s Somerset House showcase celebrating a decade of British design talent featuring work from the most prolific NEWGEN recipients of the last 10 years, including Erdem, Alexander McQueen, Roksanda and JW Anderson. We also directed a total redesign of the NEWGEN exhibition space in its new home of Somerset House’s East Wing.

We brought the iconic sheds back to Somerset House’s River Terrace for this year’s showing and worked alongside each NEWGEN recipient to bring their design ideas to life inside the construct through imaginative installation.

We designed and built a new display system in the West Wing Galleries of Somerset house to showcase the designers’ collections for sales appointments. To hero each designer, we set up The Stamp Stair Scarf installation and a video and portrait exhibition within The Hermitage Corridor.

We were thrilled to bring the iconic NEWGEN / Topshop shed installations to life at Somerset House for this season. Working with the recipients, we transformed each Wayne Hemingway-designed shed into a personal showcase of their brands and created a fanciful NEWGEN village on the bank of the River Thames.
